Your entryway says everything about your home before a visitor even steps inside. For acreage properties across Brookfield, Pullenvale and surrounding Brisbane West areas, a well-designed entrance isn’t just about kerb appeal – it’s about functionality, longevity, and setting the tone for your entire property.
At Brookie Build, we specialise in custom-built entry, driveway, and fencing solutions tailored for rural and large-lot homes. Whether you’re investing in a striking, high-end gateway or seeking a reliable upgrade to suit your lifestyle, we deliver with craftsmanship and local insight. We can build not only entry, driveway and fencing solutions but also additional functional matching structures on your property to suit your needs. For example, in one client’s package, we completed a horse wash bay.

Design That Reflects Your Property
While each entry we build is unique, we aim to work with you to ensure it provides a coherent appeal in line with your existing (or planned) property. Need some inspiration? Here are four design concepts we often use to guide style and materials. Images are for representation purposes only:

Modern Rural Luxe
Think wide driveways, sleek concrete, steel gates with clean lines, and built-in LED lighting. This look is bold, minimal, and suits architectural homes that lean contemporary. Add native landscaping for contrast and privacy.
Traditional Equestrian Estate
Crisp white fencing, red brick or sandstone pillars, classic arched timber gates. This approach is timeless, perfect for established homesteads and properties with horses or formal gardens.

Rustic Welcome
Natural hardwood posts, warm gravel or stabilised sandstone driveways, timber rail fencing, and simple timber signage. Blends seamlessly with traditional Queenslander homes and bush settings.
Defining Your Entry Approach
We work with clients generally on one of two approaches and usually create an entry package to suit.

Materials Make The Difference
Every element we use is chosen with durability in mind, especially for properties dealing with steep driveways, heavy rainfall, or clay-rich soils.
Driveway Surfaces – Choose surfaces that are low-maintenance, and suitable for Queensland’s changing climate.
- Exposed Aggregate – Long-lasting, slip-resistant, and visually attractive. A top pick for high-traffic driveways.
- Concrete (Plain or Coloured) – Practical and tough, with edge finishes to suit formal or relaxed looks.
- Stabilised Gravel – Economical but needs careful installation to prevent washout. Best on gently sloped sites.
Our team will help you choose the right option based on your style, budget, and lifestyle needs.
Structural/ Fencing Materials – We use durable, high-performance materials that are built to last.
- Hardwood Timber – Strong and classic, especially when treated. Great for post-and-rail setups.
- Steel or Aluminium – Powder-coated and low-maintenance, available in heritage or contemporary profiles.
- Composite Fencing – Weather-resistant and sleek, a great choice for modern acreage homes.
We’ll recommend materials that align with both your design vision and property aesthetics and surrounding landscape.
Lighting, Signage and Electronics – Whether connected to your mains or using solar panels we can help organize the practicalities you need.
- Low-voltage LED Strip Lighting – Discreet and practical for guiding vehicles and creating ambience.
- Pillar-Mounted Lights – Ideal for entries with statement posts or walls.
- Backlit Signage – Helps visitors find your property with style and visibility.
- Electronic gates/openers – Helps you control security/entry to the premesis.
We design for form and function – ensuring your entry and exterior facilities are visible and usable at all hours of the day.
Drainage & Erosion Control – Good planning can protect your asset into the future.
- Integrated stormwater solutions, ag pipes, and gravel trenches
- Retaining systems or cut-and-fill works where needed
- Sloped driveway design to reduce water pooling and surface damage

Frequently Asked Questions
Planning a new driveway, fence or other exterior structures often comes with plenty of questions – and we’re here to make the process as clear and stress-free as possible. Below are answers to some of the most common things our clients ask when starting their journey.
Do I need council approval for a new driveway or gate?
It depends on the structure and zoning. We’ll help determine if approval is needed and handle it on your behalf if required.
What’s the best driveway surface for steep or rainy sites?
Concrete with proper drainage is typically best. We’ll assess your site and advise what’s most stable.
Can you build curved or split driveways for larger properties?
Yes. We can construct entries with turnaround circles, secondary branches, or dual-access routes.
What’s involved in installing an electric gate?
We’ll handle the structural install and coordinate with automation providers. We also allow for cabling and future upgrades.
How long does a typical entry upgrade take?
Depending on terrain, weather, and engineering needs. Concrete driveways that are very long will be completed in stages and may take time to cure before you can bring heavy trucks, horse floats etc on them. We will advise on both the raw build time and the cure time if applicable.
Can I use timber on steep or wet driveways?
We only recommend timber for fencing and gate features, it should not be used as a part of your driveway unless you are seeking decorative edging to gardens along your drive.
Will tree roots or heavy rain damage my new driveway?
We plan ahead with correct sub-bases, drainage, and expansion control to prevent cracking or movement. Over the long term being aware of large trees with extensive root systems that may cause damage and being proactive in your planting along the edges of driveway with planning can help to protect your new asset.
Do you offer custom signage as part of the build?
Yes, we can install signage made of timber, metal, or backlit acrylic as part of the gate or entry wall.
Can fencing and driveway upgrades be staged over time?
Absolutely. We can prioritise access or fencing and schedule additional work when you’re ready.
