Overview
The townhouse kitchen was 18m2 standard to what would have been builder grade from the 1990s in Kenmore, Brisbane. When considering the renovation design, we worked with the client to understand their main improvement points for the future.

Before
What We Did
- The floor space area was townhouse standard though the client was both an avid chef and busy entertainer and found it was not meeting their needs. We increased the floor area by adding a new entertainment section and wet bar.
- The pantry was in a poor location in the corner, making it difficult to get items in and out for heavy daily usage. We changed the location of the pantry and greatly increased overall the total storage capacity of the kitchen.
- The lighting installation was limited and did not provide the client with bright and appropriately directional view for workstation and area usage. We added downlights, under cabinet lighting and feature pendant lights.
- The ventilation was not sufficient around the old stove stop for practical use so we took care to appropriately plan air circulation improvements and rangehood requirements.
- Aesthetically the client gave an open brief so we worked to understand their personal homes style and match to existing colors and finishes, making it seem as though it blended seamlessly alongside their existing home.
- Elements of luxury were added to bring delight to and practicality including a pop up power point built into the counter top, zip tap, built in bin drawers, bar fridge, wine racks and custom powder coated rangehood + oven to match their interior design aesthetic.
