Our recent project, a two-story library bookcase and study renovation, exemplifies this commitment. This stunning transformation features luxurious materials and meticulous craftsmanship, resulting in a serene and inspiring environment.
Elegant Design with Spotted Gum Timber: Central to the renovation are the two-story bookcases and tabletops crafted from spotted gum timber. The rich, warm tones of the wood create a timeless aesthetic that exudes sophistication. The custom cabinetry provides ample storage and seamlessly integrates with the bookcases, maintaining a cohesive look throughout the space. Our clients were avid readers and creative collectors so large volumes of storage were a must!
Sophisticated Ceilings and Chandeliers: The most impressive feature is the gigantic chandelier with crystal drops in the double story library. In the afternoon light the rainbows light up the space. The coffered ceiling was hand crafted and designed by the Brookie Build team, with care on the paint work detail to add closs on feature areas and make the white-on-white pop when the chandelier is on. For practicality, the chandelier is fitted to a hidden winch system to allow the home owners easy ability to change the lightbulbs in the future. Additionally, we sourced matching smaller crystal chandeliers for the smaller study window. The apex build of the study window overlooking the garden adds architectural interest, drawing the eye upward and enhancing the room’s spaciousness. A crystal chandelier hangs elegantly from the apex, casting a soft, inviting glow and adding a touch of glamour.
Opening up the space: Was achieved by removing a lower level floor, so that the chandelier light and bookcase bottom story can be further enjoyed by those downstairs at once!
Luxurious Herringbone Flooring: The herringbone floors, also made from spotted gum, complement the bookcases and tabletops, tying the room together with their intricate pattern and natural beauty. This flooring choice not only looks exquisite but also stands up to the demands of a busy study and art studio. These custom floorboards were all hand-crafted by the Brookie Build team – no off-the-shelf mass production here, this is a true quality Australian craftsman build.
